Wood Balmforth was founded by Mary Anne Q. Wood in 1990 when she realized that she wanted to provide superior legal work for her many clients without the pressures and politics of a large firm. Knowing that she could provide legal services better, faster, and more enjoyably in a smaller firm setting, Mary Anne left a secure partnership and formed Wood & Wood, moving into the historic Boston Building in downtown Salt Lake City.
Recognizing Mary Anne’s commitment to integrity, personal attention and outstanding legal work, most of her clients followed her. Her practice continued to grow and other excellent attorneys from larger firms were attracted to Wood & Wood’s ideal of providing outstanding legal service in a small firm environment. In addition to Mary Anne, each of the firm’s partners practiced first with large law firms. Each left that environment to join the firm.
With the addition of new attorneys, the firm moved its offices to its current location in the Eagle Gate Tower and changed its name. Wood Balmforth LLC now consists of seven attorneys who are all committed to providing outstanding legal service in a timely, personal and cost-effective manner. The collegiality, informality and friendly atmosphere of Wood Balmforth make it an outstanding place to provide the highest level of legal services to our clients.
